Wednesday WIPs - 10.01.2018

Another Wednesday and time to show what I have been working on this week. I have worked on three of my projects this week. Here are two of them.

Appliques
I finished the fourth heart and started on an angel. It doesn't look much yet but it will take shape over the next couple of days.

Knitted Beanie
One of the guys in church asked me to make him this one. It's not going to be all black, but starting in black definetely made the first few rows quite difficult.

That's it from me for now. Check back on Friday to see what the third item is.

Friday FOs - 05.01.2018

The first Friday of the year and I have two finished objects to show you. If you saw my Wednesday WIPs post you will probably already know what they are. Here they are.

Comfort Bear #1 for 2018
My first Bear for the year.

Large Cover #1 for 2018
And my first Jug Cover for the year.

That's all for this week. Talk to you again soon.

Wednesday WIPs - 03.01.2018

This being the first Wednesday of the year I thought I had better find all my UFOs and show where thay are all at. I found nine projects in various stages of completion, not incuding the Comfort Bear that I started today. Here they all are.

Large Jug Cover
I had hoped to have this one finished by now but that was not to be.

Appliques
I have almost finished the last Heart. Once that is finished I will need to chose a pattern for the last four appliques. I'm thinking of an angel for the last four.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
Just one more corner to negotiate, finish up the side then change to black for one more circuit and this will be done.

Corner-to-Corner Pixel Square.
Progress has been quite slow on this one since I have only been working on it at markets and I haven't been to many markets lately.

Double Knit Butterfly Blanket - side 1
Double Knit Butterfly Blanket - side 2
This is another that I only work on at markets so it hasn't seen a lot of progress either.

Story Time Blanket
This one is on hold until I finish the Appliques.

2016 CAL Blanket
I don't know why I haven't joined these yet. I will get around to it sometime this year.

Four Graduation Owls
These were still packed in a box until this afternoon. I didn't know which box they were in and it took a bit of searching to find them, but now that they're found, I will have to get them finished.

Hungarian Squares Blanket
I started this project just because I wanted to try Hungarian Crochet.

I have a lot of projects on the go and soon will have one more. One of my friends from church has asked me to knit him a beanie for which he has agreed to pay me $20. I probably cause myself a few problems but I never knock back a commision job.

I know this is quite a lot of projects to get finished but I'm sure I can get them done. Feel free to offer any words of encouragement you have to offer, they would be most appreciated.

That's it for now. I hope to have something finished for Friday, even if it is only a Comfort Bear.

Richard.

Moday Mayhem - The year that was and plans for the new year

The Year in Review.

2017 was a little different for me. My posting schedule wasw thrown into disarray, mainly due to study commitments and memory issues (I kept forgetting).

My aims for 2017 were to lose 20kg and complete one trauma teddy each week but it seems that I wasn't particularly successful. I lost 5kg in the first few months but then put on a couple of kgs when I started walking regularly. I started the year at 131kg and fisnished at 129kg. A whole 2kgs lost. It's a start, I guess, but no where near the target.

The Trauma Teddies is a little confusing. I was sure that I had managed to make one each week, but checking the blog indicates that I only made 51. I think that, during the weeks that I didn't post, I must have missed one.

Checking through the posts I workd out that I had made 51 Trauma Teddies, 6 Shopping Bags, 6 Jug Covers and 5 Owls. It wasn't my most productive year but still pretty good.

The Year Ahead.

The plan for 2018 is to continue losing weight, continue making one Trauma Teddy (to be called Comfort Bears from here on) each week, to make at least one post to my blog each week (even is it is only an apology for not posting a WIP or FO post) and to be more proactive with my shop (http://madeit.com.au/rosescraft). I'm also going to try and update my Facebook followers (http://www.facebook.com/rosescrafts) each week, including the special discount offer that I will be running all year.

I'm not going to set an actually kg target for this year. I will be happy if I can lose some weight. My overall target is to get down to 90kg.

That's about it for now, I hope you all had a good Christmas and I wish you all a safe and prosperous new year. I will try to get my to-do list updated for next week.

Richard.

PS: I have been diagnosed with mild sleep apnoea and this may be affecting my memory. I still need to discuss this with my doctor to figure the best course of action.

Friday FOs - 29.12.2017

Since it is the last friday of the year I thought I had better make an effort to post any finished objects that hadn't already been posted. Unfortunately, I did something silly this afternoon and deleted all the photos off my camera because the memory was full but hadn't processed the photos from the last couple of weeks, so I had to find all the things that I had finished and take new photos. I hope I got them all. Here they are.

Trauma Teddy #48 for 2017
Trauma Teddy #49 for 2017
Trauma Teddy #50 for 2017
Shopping Bag with Pouch
Shopping Bag in Pouch

Medium Simple Owl
Tiny Simple Owl
Tiny Simple Owl #2
Trauma Teddy #51 for 2017
I was sure that I had done a Trauma Teddy each week which means that last one should be #52. I have either missed one somewhere along the line or miss numbered one. I will be checking as I go through my posts in preparation for my yearly wrap-up which I hope to post on Monday.

The tiny owls have buttons for eyes because I didn't think things so small would need toddler safe eyes since they are small enough to be choke hazards anyway.

In the meantime, I hope you have enjoyed my somewhat sporadic posts this year, I hope you had a great Christmas (or other holiday of your choosing) and I wish you all a happy new year.

Until next year, bye for now.

Richard.

Friday FOs - 01.12.2017

I remembered to take photos today but almost forgot to post them. Here are my finished objects for this week.

Shopping Bag with Pouch (#4 for 2017)
Shopping Bag in Pouch
I keep thinking that I should make some of these for myself and use them when I go shopping as a sort of advertising of my wares, but I already have plenty of reusable shopping bags.

Trauma Teddy #47 for 2017
Now that I have caught up with my production of these bears I'm going to do my best to keep up. Something that is going to be a little harder now that Craft'n'Cuppa is finished for the year. I guess I'm just going to have to set aside time each week to sit a crochet without distractions.

That's it from me for this week. I think I should also resurrect my Saturday posts and let everyone know how I'm tracking with the tragets that I set at the beginning of the year. I also need to update my to-do list. I'm sure I have more to add to it.

Until next time, have a good one.

Richard.

Wednesday WIPs - 29.11.2017

I thought it was about time I posted some progress shots, so here they are.

Appliques
I'm half way with this project having completed 4 ladies and 4 butterflies. I will be starting on the next set tomorrow.

Butterfly Square side 1
Butterfly Square side 2
I have been to a couple of markets recently so I got this one out to continue.

Rose Corner to Corner Pixel Square
I decided to get this one out at the last market.

Shopping Bag with Pouch
I kinda need to make a few of these as I seem to be able to sell them.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
I have spent a bit of time in waiting rooms lately this has been added to. A soon as I have squared it up I will switch to black and go around once more.

That's it for the WIPs this week. I have at least one itme finished and, if I remember, I will show it off on Friday.

Richard.
