Holiday Diary - Day 6

Today we went on another train trip, this time it was the Scarborough Spa Express. We picked it up at Woodlesford and ended up in Scarborough for a couple of hours before returning. On this trip we saw the usual array of animals (horses, cows, sheep and pigs) but didn't get photos of them all due to not being quick enough with the camera. It's hard to get photos of everything when you're trundling down the track at about 60-70mph.

We also saw some beautiful scenery, other trains, lots of old buildings, a castle and all the things you're likely to see in England. I even saw a police box but it didn't look anything like the Tardis and Luna Park doesn't have the same toothy smile as the Australian versions. Here are some of today's photos.

The steam engine was being helped along by a diesel today so was there more for show than anything else. This was to cut down on the amount of sparks given off by the engine as they  didn't want to risk starting fires on such a hot day.

Tomorrow we're having a quiet day, doing some washing and checking out some of the local shops. We may make a trip over to York to see what it has to offer.

Richard.
