Fridya FOs - 30.01.2015

Well, it's Friday again and time to show off my finished object for this week. Since I promised I would make one of these every week possible, this week's finished object is quite predictable.

Trauma Teddy #3 for 2015
I will be finishing something else soon but I'm not sure how soon. Maybe other people have made something different. Check out the links in the sidebar to see.

Wednesday WIPs - 28.01.2015

I'm feeling like I have been a bit slack this week as I have worked on only a few of my projects and I don't see much progress.

Other than the Trauma Teddy that I will be showing off on Friday the only projects I have worked on are:-

Square #2 for the Moogly CAL

Shy Butterfly Baby Jacket in 4 ply

Koala - designed by Planetjune
I am liking the Moogly CAL squares as they are quite challenging even for an experienced crocheter such as me.

I had a bit of trouble with the Shy Butterfly as I couldn't remember how to do the row I was on and was too lazy to consult the pattern. I ended up doing about 4 rows worth of crochet but only completed 3 rows.

The progress on the Koala was definitely slack. I'm sure I would have got more than just the legs done if I hadn't been watching TV while working on it. I still have the ears and nose to make before I stitch it all together.

As usual, follow the link in the sidebar to see what other people have been working on.

Friday FOs - 23.01.2015

I almost forgot to post this again this week. I didn't think I was old enough to start losing my memory but I guess it was never real good to begin with.

Here is this week's finished object.

Trauma Teddy #2 for 2105
I'm still managing to make one of these each week, except when I'm on holidays.

Wednesday WIPs - 21.01.2015

I'm back on deck after a week in Tasmania but I haven't done a lot of crocheting or knitting in the last couple of weeks. I did take some projects with me for the trip down but ended up sleeping most of the day on the boat.

The first thing I did this last couple of weeks was the first square in the Moogly CAL.

1st Square for Moogly CAL
Then while I was in Tas I made another.

1st Square for Moogly CAL done in single colour.
I'm not sure that it was a wise move starting this CAL when I have so many other projects that I need to be working on but I saw the square and was somewhat intrigued as to its construction. I'm always up for a challenge.

Knitted Scarf
I managed to spend a bit of time on this and got through one repeat of the pattern.

Woollen Baby Blanket - motifs from Ellen Gormley's book
The orientation day for the Mirambeena Activities Group was on Monday and Tutors were expected to be there to sign up any new students so I took a few things along for people to look at and worked on this while I was there. I only managed two squares but any progress is still progress.

I also worked on a Trauma Teddy but that was after I took these photos and I hope to have it finished tomorrow so you will see it on Friday.

That's all from me for now. Check out the links in the sidebar if you want to see what other people have been making.

Friady FOs - 09.01.2015

In spite of the heat that we have been having here I have managed to a bit of crocheting and have enven managed to finish a couple of items. Here are my finished objects for this week.

Small Jug Cover
Another small jug cover to add to the stall. I think I need one more of these and then I need to make a few large ones.

Trauma Teddy #1 for 2015
I know I showed you one of these last week but this is the first that was actually made this year.

There will be no Friday FOs next week due to Sue and me being away from home, celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary. Everything should return to normal (whatever that is) the following week. I may post some of our holiday pics next week, in the mean time, I'm sure there will be plenty to see if you follow the links in the sidebar.

Wednesday WIPs - 07.01.2015

I may have taken a few days off with my crochet and knitting this week (it has been hot here) but I still managed to do a bit. Here are the progress shots for the objects that I have worked on this week.

While at the New Years Markets at Mt Beauty I worked on a few different items.

Shy Butterfly Baby Jacket in 8 ply
I added a couple of rows to this one.

Boy's Rugby Jumper
I finished all the increases on the first sleeve.

Knitted Scarf
I managed one iteration of the pattern on this.

I only managed to work on one project at home.

Shy Butterfly Baby Jacket in 4 ply
Just a couple of rows.

And while waiting at the podiatrist I managed to do a couple of colour changes on the Tunisian Spiral Blanket.

Tunisian Spiral Blanket
While we are expecting a cool change tomorrow but it's not expected to bring the temps down below 30C so I don't know that it will help much.

I should have my normal Friday FOs post this week but Sue and I will be away next week celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary.

As usual, check out the links in the sidebar to see what others have been working on.

Monday Mayhem - 2014, The Year in Review

I forgot to do this on Saturday like I had kinda promised to do so I'm doing it today. Better late than never as they say.

I have been through all my FO Friday posts for last year and compiled a list of all the FOs that featured, and here they are.

54 Trauma Teddies including the ones knitted by someone else that I finished.
28 Hanging Towels
16 Toys
6 Pairs of Bootees
4 Shopping Bags
3 Jug Covers
2 Baby Blankets
2 Santa Stockings
2 Bookmarks
2 Beanies
2 Toddler's Jackets
2 Matinee Jackets
2 Christmas Trees
1 Bottle Cosy
1 Doily
1 Baby's Ensemble (Jacket, Pants and Hat)
1 Table Runner
1 Cheval Set
1 Handkerchief Border
1 Wrap
1 Place Mat Border
1 Scarf

I don't think that is a bad effort for one year but I'm sure I could have done more if we hadn't moved house and I seem to be slacking off in the afternoons these day (I blame the heat).

And now to see what's on my to-do list.

Things to make to replace stock for my market stall:

Bottle Cosies in more team colours
Teapot Cosies
bag holders
Jacket, Pants and Hat sets
Sunhat and Bootees in white
Tiny Duck
Tiny Dog
Heather Hippo
Large Witch
Large Penguin
Small Penguin
Monkey (the person that bought the previous one I made wanted another because the recipient loves the first one to death and she's worried he will wear it out and it will fall apart)
Shopping Bags

Current Work In Progress:

Toddlers' Rugby Pullover
Trauma Teddies
Tartan Blanket – taken over from Sue
Woollen Baby Blanket using Motifs from Ellen's book
Jug Covers
Koala
Shy Butterfly Baby Jacket x 2
Tunisian Spiral Blanket
Yarn Eater (Hungarian Crochet) Blanket
Knitted Scarf

Things I'm itching to get started on:

Crochenit Knee Rug (same as Cot Blanket and will also use up some of my stash of 8ply)
Crocheted Slocks
Table Runners for each Australian state and territory (currently trying to design the ACT one).
Tunisian Crochet Intarsia Table Runner
Dinosaurs (bought the patterns from PlanetJune)
Picture Blanket (need samples so people can see what they might be getting)
Article in Broomstick Lace
Article in Hairpin Lace

I doubt if I will get much of this list done this year and I'm sure there will be more added as the year goes on.

So, how much did you achieve last year and what's going to be on your hooks and needles this year?

Richard.

Friday FOs - 02.01.2015

It's Friday once more and time to show off my last FOs for 2014. While I realise that this is my first post for 2015 these items were finished before the new year so qualify for last year.

Baby's Jacket, Pants and Hat set
I think the buttons might be a bit big for this set but they were the only ones I could find at the time. Since I finished this I have found the container that has a large quantity of sets of buttons that would probably have been more suitable but I'm sure these will do. They will just make it harder for the Jacket to come undone.

Trauma Teddy #66
This is the 48th Trauma Teddy for 2014.

That's it for 2014. Next week I hope to start showing off this year's FOs and tomorrow I hope to do a wrap-up of 2014 with a summary of all the items that I have made during the year.

Be sure to check out the links in the sidebar toe see what others have been making.
